Monthly Archives: February 2013

i am too afraid to count how many photos I took while we were in south africa

that is, photos on my big camera

sorting through them, editing and deciding what to keep and what to trash

is rather overwhelming

but it’s nearly march and no one has seen anything

of our utterly amazing wonderful exciting exhaustingbutfun holiday

so i downloaded the pics from my phone

some are instagrams, some very blurry and out of focus, some capture that moment perfectly

but that is a lot like life and it keeps things interesting when not everything is perfect

so in short (longer posts to follow i promise)

here is a phone dump of photos from about 1 December 2012

we took our last boat trip to Moreton Island

Santa came to our little street, pressies were made and delivered, our last lunch at the sushi train before big school, last day of Kindy

we finally finished the big decking project and had a party to celebrate

3.30am we caught a cab to the airport

too many hours to count later we arrived in JHB

under african skies and relishing the sunsets

we had the privilege of staying at the most amazing bush lodge – Tintswalo Manor

ahh back in our mother city Cape Town

blue skies, white sand, cold water

being there = grateful and inspired

we got to go out for lunch. with no kids. and drink wine

first of many road trips

kromme river and beautiful friends

days that never end

we got to go away. for a whole night. without kids. and drink wine. to celebrate 10years of being hitched

small towns. not many rules. kids welcome at the pub as long as they give the adults a turn at the pool table

friends and family.  time doesn’t matter

christmas wishes

the beach. oh the beach. and the golden sun

friends that feel like family

more long road trips.  but the destination worth it

more beach and more sun and more friends that feel like family

table mountain even though i am terrified of heights and cable cars and rocky ledges

dad leaves for AU, we tearfully wave goodbye at departures

but we got more beach and more sun

so grateful for family and cousins and pringle bay sunsets

another day, another airport

hong kong!

even though there wasn’t much sun it was a happy day at the happiest place on earth (well the Hong Kong version anyway)

a litte over airports.  my choice and their choice for last airport meal.

and straight back to moreton island

i am exhausted after posting and narrating that

happy mom?

so quickly it has become a huge part of our lives

my son was born before facebook came into my life

but somehow there are days where I spend more

time with facebook than I do with him

for a long time I have had a debate

close my account or keep it open

but what of my business page?

what of my many, many friends and family overseas?

do I need a business facebook page?

will my friends and family forget me if I am not on facebook?

but it takes up too much of my time

I am such an easily distracted person

facebook decides what part of my feed I get to see anyway

my brain is overloaded with news and posts that serve me no benefit

not at the moment anyway

so this weekend I decided

today I am implementing

I am quitting my personal facebook page

I’ll still be here on the blog (hopefully a lot more)

and on instagram

and my Louise Tee Photography page on facebook remains intact
