Monthly Archives: June 2012

the school holidays

as a child they were the highlights of my life

i remember counting the weeks, days, hours until the beginning of the holidays

and each holiday had a different flavour and feeling associated to it

depending on the time of the year

now having kids of my own

holidays are no longer as exciting

i love not having to get dressed at 6.30am and make school lunch packs

but entertaining children all day is not my thing either

and the dog.  the poor dog who does not get walked enough

looks at us all day with long puppy eyes that say

please play with me

hello dog park discovery!

it is five minutes down the road

the boys get to play ninjas with real sticks

the dog makes 100 new friends in 35 minutes

i take my camera and play with settings i am not used to

everyone is happy

these were edited using

Make Believe Actions – The Seaside Set

thanks Nichole – i love them so

as a newborn photographer

i always make it clear to clients that the best time

for photographs is in the first 10 days

after that babies wake up a little bit

they are harder to settle and not so easy to fuss and fiddle with

well this little man blew that theory out of the water

he was just over 6 weeks old at the time of our shoot

perfect in every way

easy to settle

what a pleasure and a joy to have him in front of the camera

three months

that is how long it has been since i last posted

i wanted to call this long overdue post

but that would have required an actual hiatus

but really, that has not been the case

it is almost the middle of june

my cup is overflowing with work and love and family and so much more

so lets get going with how i spent a rainy queen’s birthday holiday today

his mum is utterly delighted with her newest baby boy, one she says is an old soul

his dad is the most relaxed father of three boys under three i have ever seen

his twin brothers are so proud to be big brothers

he is the most content and happy baby boy

the only time he cried was when he put a hat on him

he does not like hats
