i first met him in his mummy’s tummy

check that out over here.

He arrived safe and sound, a little overdue

he is just so beautiful.

thanks T – can’t wait for you see the rest of them.

married seven years on 21 Dec 09

been with this wonderful man for nearly fourteen years

he is one of my favourite things in whole world

only not the favourite because we have kids together and I can’t favour him over them

they might read this one day.

we don’t do warm and fuzzy

or romance or champagne or presents or romantic walks

we do drink wine together

a lot

and we do enjoy each other’s company over anything else.

Years ago – seven to be more precise

I was wedding planning and looking for poems to use on the invitations, or in the vows

and I remember this one, because it is not fluffy and hallmark cardy

and our MC read it out to us at the reception

On Marriage
Kahlil Gibran

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.

LC forever

The fourth of January is not too late to wish you all

a very Happy New Year

For me the New Year comes like a clean slate

what is past is past and now we get to start anew

a new diary

a new fridge calendar

new lunchboxes

new daycare and kindy for the kids

a new camera? crossing all fingers and toes for that one.

I am not really a resolutions kind of person – I am hard enough on myself as it is

but here are a few things that are going to inspire me in

I have two delightful little boys

and a new puppy called Dexter

he is a boxer and he is three months old

so this is going up in their playroom

to remind me how they think and view the world

and lastly

this is going up in my playroom / studio / office to remind me
